Quest for the Golden Leaf (Winnipeg)

Join us this Canada Day for a city-wide treasure hunt!

At 9am on July 1st, you'll receive your clue package via e-mail. Each clue will lead you to a different location around Winnipeg where you'll need to collect information (and take a team selfie!) in order to decipher the location of the Golden Maple Leaf. 

Find the Golden Leaf, take your picture with it, and submit your team's photos digitally through Facebook, Instagram, or e-mail to be entered to win prizes in cash or gift cards to local businesses. 

This is a pandemic-friendly event. You don't have to touch anything, or go near anyone else. Clues can be solved in any order to avoid congestion. It's the perfect Canada Day activity to get out of the house and have some fun!

Details:

The Hunt runs from 9am to 6pm, but you can start whenever you like. Any team that submits their full photo set (one team-selfie at each site including with the Golden Leaf) before 6pm will be entered to win prizes in cash and gift cards. Estimated play time 2-3 hours. 

You'll be looking for parks, monuments, and other public spaces. There will be approximately 10-18 stops at various locations across the city. Access to a vehicle will be very helpful.

Some clues will be easy, some will be tricky (keep Google handy!). Suitable for all ages. Please play with household members only uness Government of Manitoba guidelines change before July 1st. 

Prizes:

Grand Prize: $250 cash

2nd place: $100 cash

3rd - 6th place: $25 gift cards to local Winnipeg businesses #supportlocal

Bonus: Mini-Moose Challenge!

At the same site as the Golden Leaf, 4 mini golden Moose are hidden (and we DO mean mini - they're only 2cm tall). Find one and you'll walk away with a $25 gift card to a local Winnipeg business (max. 1 per team). No clues, just good old fashioned hunting.
